Build your own unique session!
Your Senior Portraits Are More Than A Yearbook Picture.
A senior portrait session is different from your school yearbook photo. This session is all about you!
Choose your favorite location, season, outfits, props, and poses. Incorporate your personality, hobbies, sports, music, school activities, or anything else that makes you who you are.
You can keep it classic and timeless—or make it completely unique. There are no rules that say your senior portraits have to look like everyone else's.
Your Senior Session Should Be Fun!
Senior portraits don't have to be stiff, serious, or overly posed.
I want your session to be unique, relaxed, and fun—with photographs that capture your personality, your style, and what makes you you.
You don't need to know how to pose, and you don't need to have everything figured out before your session. I'll guide you along the way, and we'll create the session together.
Bring your ideas. Bring your personality. And don't be afraid to have fun with it!
SENIOR PORTRAIT FAQ
What should I bring to my senior session?
You can also bring things that are meaningful or fun to you—such as:
- Sports equipment
- Musical instruments
- Dance shoes
- Books
- Flowers
- Artwork
- Favorite accessories
- Cultural items
- Anything related to your hobbies or interests
Don't be afraid to bring something unexpected! Sometimes the most unique ideas make the most memorable photographs.
Do I need to know how to pose?
Absolutely not!
You don't need any modeling experience. I'll give you simple directions and help you find poses that feel natural.
We'll mix traditional portraits with movement, candid moments, and fun ideas so your gallery doesn't look like a collection of the same pose repeated over and over.
What if I don't like a pose?
Tell me!
If something feels awkward or uncomfortable, we can try something completely different. There is never a need to force a pose that doesn't feel like you.
I want you to feel comfortable, confident, and genuinely yourself.
The best photographs happen when you're having fun—not when you're trying to look comfortable.
Can I share photo ideas or inspiration before my session?
Please do!
If you already have a vision for your senior portraits, I'd love to see it.
You can send me:
- Pinterest boards
- Instagram screenshots
- Inspiration photos
- Favorite poses
- Locations you love
- Ideas for outfits or themes
You don't need to have a specific vision, though. If you'd rather let me take the lead, I'm happy to help create something unique for you.
Can my parents stay during the session?
Of course! Parents are welcome to stay and watch.
During the senior portrait portion of the session, however, I encourage parents to give their senior a little space to relax and be themselves. I'll be providing posing guidance and direction throughout the session, so parents can sit back, relax, and enjoy watching the experience.
Senior portraits are about capturing your senior's personality, confidence, and individuality. Sometimes the most natural and genuine photographs happen when they can simply relax and have fun in front of the camera.
Your job is to enjoy the moment. My job is to take care of the photography.
CAN WE TAKE FAMILY PHOTOS DURING THE SENIOR SESSION?
Yes! A few family portraits can be added to your senior session as an optional add-on at a special discounted rate.
Please keep in mind that a senior session is primarily focused on the senior. Family photos are a shorter portion of the session rather than a full family portrait session.
I'll guide everyone through the poses so you don't have to worry about what to do.

CAN I BRING A FRIEND OR SIBLING?
Yes!
A friend or sibling can join for a few photographs. Just let me know ahead of time so we can plan accordingly.
And yes—sometimes a few silly photos with your best friend end up being some of your favorites.
CAN WE DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT OR UNUSUAL?
Yes, please!
If you have an idea that is a little unusual, creative, funny, dramatic, or completely different from a traditional senior portrait, tell me.
I love incorporating personality, hobbies, locations, movement, and unexpected ideas into a session.
Your senior portraits don't have to look like anyone else's.
What should I wear?
Choose outfits that feel like you and reflect your personal style.
I recommend bringing 2–3 outfits so we can create a variety of looks. You might choose:
- A casual, everyday look
- A dressier or more polished outfit
- Something that reflects a favorite hobby, activity, or your personality
Don't be afraid to bring something fun or unexpected! Your senior portraits don't have to look like everyone else's.
A few general tips:
- Choose clothes that fit well and make you feel comfortable and confident.
- Bring a variety of styles rather than several outfits that look almost the same.
- Solid colors and simple patterns tend to photograph well, but don't be afraid to show your personality.
- Think about your location and the season when choosing your outfits.
- Bring shoes and accessories that complete each look.
Not sure what to wear? Bring a few options! We can look at everything together and decide what works best for the location and the overall feel of your session.

What if I don't know what I want?
That's perfectly fine.
You don't have to arrive with a Pinterest board and a perfectly planned vision.
I'll ask questions about your personality, interests, favorite things, and the kind of images you like. From there, we'll build the session together.
Think of it as a collaboration rather than a test you need to prepare for.
What happens if we don't know which location to choose?
I'm happy to help!
The right location depends on your personality, outfits, season, and the overall feeling you want for your photographs.
We can choose somewhere beautiful—or somewhere meaningful to you.
A location doesn't have to be traditionally "pretty" to make an amazing senior portrait.
What should I do to prepare for my session?
A few simple things can make a big difference:
☐ Choose 2–3 outfits
☐ Bring accessories and meaningful items
☐ Clean your shoes and any props
☐ Steam or iron your outfits
☐ Bring inspiration photos if you have them
☐ Get a good night's sleep
☐ Come ready to have fun!
You don't need to memorize poses or practice smiling in the mirror. I'll take care of that part.
What happens if it rains?
Because many senior sessions take place outdoors, weather can affect the schedule.
I'll monitor the forecast and communicate with you if we need to adjust or reschedule your session.
Cloudy days can actually make beautiful photographs, so rain isn't automatically a problem!
When will I receive my photos?
Your edited photographs will be delivered through an online gallery after your session.
Your booking information will include the current expected delivery timeframe.
Can I request specific edits?
Each image is carefully edited for color, exposure, and overall appearance while keeping you looking like yourself.
If there is something specific you'd like me to know about before editing, please let me know.
How far in advance should I book?
Senior season—especially fall weekends—can fill quickly.
If you have a specific date or location in mind, I recommend booking early.
Please note: Some locations require a photography permit, and permit applications can take time to process. If you would like to have your session at a location that requires a permit, please contact me at least two weeks in advance so there is enough time to complete the application process.
Most importantly...
Come as yourself.
Bring your favorite clothes.
Bring your hobbies.
Bring your ideas.
Bring your weird ideas, too.
You don't have to be a model.
You don't have to know what to do.
And you definitely don't have to look like everyone else's senior portraits.
We'll have fun, try things, and create photographs that feel like YOU.
